Advent Global Solutions, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking Software Engineers. Individuals will apply advanced theoretical and practical subject matter knowledge and experience creating various types of models based on business requirements, as well as designing test plans. Advent Global Solutions Inc. provides software development and information technology (IT) services. The Software Engineer will be responsible for creating models, which in layman's terms means designing different layers of data models to represent how data is structured and flows within a system. A conceptual model outlines high-level business entities and their relationships, while a logical model adds more detail like attributes and data types without considering physical implementation. A physical model then defines how the data will actually be stored in a database, including tables, indexes, and relationships, optimized for performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create various types of models such as conceptual, logical and physical based on the requirement/business rules.
• Conduct and participate in model reviews, integrate models and ensure definitions are consistent across the enterprise for share ability and reusability.
• Responsible for test plan design, quality validation, defect tracking and reporting.
• Perform functional, re-testing, regression, system, backend testing.
• Develop, review and execute test cases.
• Work with development team to design and implement system modifications.
• Understand business and functional requirements of the client's business system.
• Gather requirements from business users and analyze requirements.
• Perform needed research for new/on-going requirements and relationships among data elements.
• Perform data gap analysis.

Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems or any STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) field of study, plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or in any related position(s).

• Travel: No travel; No telecommuting. The position of the Software Engineer is project based, and assignments are long-term at unanticipated sites within the U.S. which may require relocation at the end of each project. While on site for each project, there will be no travel.
• Salary: $126,589 per year
